TWO SPARTANS HELP CANADA CLAIM VOLLEYBALL SILVER
Men's Volleyball - date: Jul. 26th, 2008
The Canadian men's junior national volleyball team won silver at the 2008 NORCECA Junior Men's Continental Championship in San Salvador, El Salvador from June 30-July 5, and two Trinity Western University Spartans played key roles. Rudy Verhoeff (2nd yr, Calgary) was the captain and a starter, while Marc Howatson (2nd year, Victoria) played an important role off the bench.
SPARTANS FINISH FOURTH AT US OPEN IN ATLANTA

The Trinity Western University men’s volleyball team finished fourth at the US Open Men's National Championships in Atlanta, Geor. The Spartans-Fraser Valley Volleyball Club team won four matches during the Men’s Open portion of the tournament at the Georgia World Conference Center from May 24-31, 2008.
TWO SPARTANS SELECTED TO REPRESENT CANADA

Two players from the Trinity Western University Spartans men’s volleyball team have been selected to play for Canada’s Junior National Team this summer. Left side Marc Howatson (Victoria, B.C.) and middle Rudy Verhoeff (Calgary) will represent Canada at the 2008 NORCECA Junior Continental Championship taking place June 28 – July 6 in San Salvador, El Salvador.
FOUR SPARTANS INVITED TO CANADIAN JUNIOR NATIONAL CAMP

Four players from the Trinity Western University Spartans men’s volleyball team will be attending the 2008 Canada Junior Men’s Selection Camp to be held May 25-28 at the Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg. Setter Ben Ball (Abbotsford, B.C.), outside hitters Marc Howatson (Victoria) and Steve Marshall (Abbotsford, B.C.), and middle Rudy Verhoeff (Calgary) will compete for a chance to represent Canada at the 2008 NORCECA Junior Continental Championship taking place June 28 – July 6 in San Salvador, El Salvador.
2007-08 Men's Volleyball Year in Review

The 2007-08 season was one of transition for the Trinity Western University Spartans men’s volleyball team. After winning the bronze medal at the 2007 CIS Nationals at McMaster University in Hamilton, the Spartans said goodbye to its program architect and head coach, and three players who each won four national medals in their Spartans careers.
