2010-11: Was injured in a September pre-season trip to Russia, dislocating his subtalar joint (a rarely ever dislocated joint below his ankle) but made a remarkable recovery to return Jan. 21, 2011 against Calgary…had 4 kills and 5 digs and 1 block in 1st game back…1.95 digs per set (2nd on team)…matched career-high 15 digs against Manitoba (02/12)…averaged 1.42 kills per set…0.29 service aces per set…career-high 5 aces against Manitoba (02/12)…Final Four: Played in 7 sets…11 digs…7 kills…2 blocks…CIS Championship: Played in 11 sets…had a combined 38 digs…11 kills.

2009-10: Member of Team BC at Canada Summer Games…played in 27 of 29 matches…had a season-high 17 kills in 3-2 win over Calgary (03/06) in CW semifinal match…had season-high 15 digs in 3-2 win over Brandon (11/14)…had season-high 5 blocks in 3-1 win over Manitoba (11/20)…hit double digits in kills 15 times.

2008-09: Member of Canadian Youth National Team, member of Junior National team that finished 2nd at NORCECA’s and 9th at World Championships…played in all 21 matches…had season-high 20 kills in 3-2 win over Regina (10/24)…had a season’s best 13 digs in final match of the season against TRU (02/14)…hit double digits in kills 15 times…had a season-high 5 blocks in 3-1 loss to UBC (11/29)…led the team averaging 3.23 kills per game…his 3.45 kills per game ranked 7th in CW in conference play.

2007-2008: played in all but 1 match as a rookie…was 3rd on team in kills per game with 1.98 per game…was 2nd on the team in digs with 110…had a season-high 20 kills in 3-1 win over TRU (01/04)…had a season-high 12 digs in 3-1 win over Regina (01/18)…hit double digits in kills on 5 separate occasions.

Prior to TWU: Grad of Oak Bay High School had success at left, right and middle positions for Oak Bay, Victoria Volleyball Club, Team BC and the Canadian Youth National Team…named the captain of Team BC in 2005 and 2006 and led the team in 2005 to a Western Midget Elites Championship…in 2006 he continued the winning trend as Oak Bay High School captured its 1st provincial title in over 30 years and Howatson was named MVP.
