Leaders keep rolling

OTTAWA (CIS)
- For the second straight week national leaders remain the same in CIS basketball and volleyball.

In women's basketball, the reigning CIS champion Simon Fraser Clan (8-0) were voted a unanimous No. 1 for the fourth time in as many coaches poll this fall after a convincing weekend sweep of UCFV, 71-41 and 93-58.

In men's hoops, the five-time defending CIS champion Carleton Ravens (4-0) claimed all 43 first-place votes following a home stand that saw them outscore Waterloo 77-53 and Laurier 90-66.

In women's volleyball, the Manitoba Bisons (7-1) travelled to the West Coast and made quick work of the Simon Fraser Clan, sweeping a weekend doubleheader 3-1 and 3-0.

In men's volleyball, the 2006-07 CIS finalist Alberta Golden Bears (5-1) enjoyed a bye week and will get back on the court this weekend when they host Saskatchewan for a pair.
