LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Canada West conference championship schedules and hosts were announced Friday and for Trinity Western, it’ll be a trip to Regina for the track and field championships Feb. 22-23 and a short jaunt to Victoria for the swimming championships Jan. 25-27.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – With the addition of three new teams – Winnipeg, UNBC and Mount Royal – to the Canada West men’s and women’s soccer conferences, several changes have been made for the 2012 season, which will give the schedule, the divisions and the playoff format a whole new look this fall.

LANGLEY, BRITISH COLUMBIA – Both the men’s and women’s volleyball CIS national champions will be on display when Trinity Western opens its 2012-13 Canada West regular season as the men’s title holding Spartans and women’s champion UBC Thunderbirds will be in the same gym on back-to-back nights as Trinity Western and UBC launch their respective seasons with a home-and-home weekend series Oct. 26-27.

The Spartans men’s hockey will return to the ice for the first time since being eliminated from the playoff race last weekend. In CIS action the Spartans track and field team will compete in the CIS national championships in Manitoba. The Spartans swim team has finished their CIS season but will compete in a meet. Finally, the men’s soccer team will play a preseason tilt against an NCAA team.

Meanwhile, the women’s team also travels to Ontario, but this time to McMaster University to participate in the Championships. At home in Langley, B.C. the men’s hockey team plays their third to last game of the year.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – After a bye week for the Trinity Western men’s basketball team, the Spartans remained unranked in the final polls of the regular season. Trinity Western’s track and field and swimming teams also remained unranked.

LANGLEY, British Columbia –This week in Spartans action the postseason is in full swing for the CIS teams. The defending CIS champion men’s volleyball team will host the Canada West Final Four this weekend in their quest for the second consecutive championship. Meanwhile, the women’s volleyball team will play in the Final Four at UBC. In basketball action the men’s team travels to Saskatchewan to compete in the Canada West quarter finals. On the ice the Spartans will play a pair of games, at home and on the road. In swim team action, the Spartans participate in the CIS Championships in Montreal, while the track and field team is at the Canada West Championships.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Following a weekend sweep of then No. 6 UBC, the Trinity Western men’s volleyball team captured the Canada West regular season title, finishing 19-1 on the year, and in doing so, remained No. 1 in the latest CIS Top 10, as they have been since the preseaon poll. The Spartans women’s volleyball team, who finished 13-7 on the year, split with No. 1 UBC this weekend and following that moved up into a tie for No. 3. The basketball, track and field and swimming teams remained unranked.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – With a pair of road wins over No. 7 Calgary the Trinity Western men’s volleyball remained atop the CIS Top 10 for the 13th straight week while a couple of road loss against Calgary saw the Spartans women’s volleyball team drop from No. 2 to No. 5 in the latest polls. The basketball, track and field and swimming teams remained unranked.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – This week all the Spartan indoor teams play at home, while the track team will participate in a meet in Washington. Both basketball teams will play their last game of the season on Thursday, against the Fraser Valley Cascades. Volleyball will play their last pair of games at home against the rival UBC Thunderbirds. In hockey the Spartans will play a home-and-home series against Simon Fraser.

The Spartans men’s and women’s basketball teams are back on home court after three weeks on the road. In volleyball action the Spartans will travel to Calgary to compete against the Dinos in two matches. Finally the Spartan track and field team will continue their tour with the Bison Invitational at Manitoba.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – This week most of the Spartans teams are competing on the road, while only the men’s hockey team will play on home territory. The lone home game of the weekend will be Spartans hockey versus the Simon Fraser Clan at the Langley Events Centre. On the road, the basketball teams will remain close to home as they each play one game against the University of the Fraser Valley. Meanwhile, the Spartans volleyball teams will be competing against ranked teams in Manitoba. Finally the swim team is in Alberta for the Canada West championships to compete with the best in the West.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western men’s volleyball team completed a perfect 10-0 fall semester by beating Thompson Rivers 3-2 Friday and 3-0 Saturday as they remained No.1 in the CIS Top 10. The Spartans women’s volleyball team split with TRU, losing 3-2 Friday and winning 3-1 Saturday, and will now enter the Christmas break ranked No. 10 in the CIS.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western women’s soccer team capped an impressive 2011-12 regular season with back-to-back wins over Lethbridge, 2-0, and Calgary, 2-1 as the Spartans captured top spot in Canada West with a 12-1-1 record and maintained their No. 2 CIS ranking. Meanwhile, on the volleyball court, both the men’s and women’s teams swept their weekends in Saskatchewan, which kept the men’s team at No. 1 and vaulted the women’s team to No. 6. In the opening men’s basketball rankings, the Spartans are No. 8.

This is the highest both soccer teams have been ranked all season. Both cross country teams remain unranked.

EDMONTON, Alberta – The Canada West Universities Athletic Association announced on Wednesday a partnership with Stretch Internet to launch CanadaWest.TV, the official home of web-based broadcasting for all 14 Canada West member institutions during the 2011-12 season and beyond.

KAMLOOPS, British Columbia – Trinity Western University athletes have had an impressive showing thus far at the Western Canada Summer Games as Spartans men’s volleyballer Nick Del Bianco (Surrey, B.C.), and his teammate Ben Chow won gold for Team B.C. on the beach while incoming athletes Katelynn Ramage (Nanaimo, B.C.) won gold in the 5000m race walk, setting a meet record in the process, and Hayley Stewart (Surrey, B.C.) came sixth in the long jump with a leap of 5.29m.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western University will be duly represented on the field of play at this year’s FISU Games in Schenzhen, China – with athletes on both of Canada’s volleyball teams and the women’s soccer team – but they will also have a presence off the field as the Spartans registered massage therapist Kristy Wiltshire was named the massage therapist for Canada’s Core Medical Team.
