As the premier broadcasting venue for the TWU Spartans, Spartan Web Radio is responsible for delivering in-depth, fast-paced and exciting action to Spartans fans around the world from wherever the Spartans are playing. Spartans Athletics on Spartan Web Radio features the Trinity Western University Spartans men's and women's basketball and volleyball teams live on the internet every home game, right here at SpartanWebRadio.ca.

Spartan Web Radio was also your exclusive source for many special additional broadcasts, including Canada West Playoffs Men's Basketball from Victoria, BC in February 2006, and CIS Nationals Men's Volleyball Tournament from Hamilton, ON in March, 2006.

Professional Broadcast Experience

Spartan Web Radio offers enthusiastic and knowledgable broadcast teams who are gaining extremely high-level, unprecedented practical broadcast and production experience while studying various disciplines at the undergraduate university level. The SWR experience includes outstanding mentorship and supervision from professional broadcasters, Athletics staff and the TWU Sports Information Department. Through their responsibilities in preparing every aspect of the broadcast as a team, from acquiring sponsors, writing broadcast scripts, designing promotional material, maintaining the website, and overseeing technical production details, members of the Spartan Web Radio team develop an air of professionalism and a breadth and depth of experience that prepares them for a future in professional brodadcasting in a way that few classrooms can.

In-Depth Broadcasts and Analysis

Men's and women's home games during the regular season can be heard live and archived on SpartanWebRadio.ca, through a computer equipped with the Internet and a current version of Microsoft® Windows Media™ Player. All broadcasts are scheduled to go on the air ten minutes prior to the scheduled start time, and feature a comprehensive pre-game show; SWR also delivers quality half-time and post-game shows, consisting of in-depth player interviews and statistical analysis. A high volume of listener e-mails are sent to the hosts during the broadcasts, and prizes are awarded to the Listener E-mail of the Night winner, courtesy of Spartan Athletics.
