Metcalfe, who is a former national level swimmer himself, has been a full-time coach in B.C. for the past 28 years at both the national and international levels.
He joined Trinity Western last year as the Spartans technical director and will enter his second season this fall.

For the past nine years, he has served as the director of swimming and head coach for both the Langley and Abbotsford Olympians Swim Clubs.

While under the tutelage of Metcalfe, the Langley Olympians Swim Club was represented at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing by Langley resident Jake Tapp.
