DESJARLAIS FINISHES FOURTH IN 400M FREE AT CANADA WEST CHAMPIONSHIPS

EDMONTON, Alberta – Competing at his first Canada West Championships, Trinity Western first-year swimmer Christian Desjarlais missed out on what would have been the Spartans first ever medal by just two seconds as he finished fourth in the 400m freestyle, which Trinity Western’s best ever finish, Sunday at the Kinsmen Sports Centre.

EDMONTON, Alberta – It was another solid day for the Trinity Western swimming teams at the Canada West Championships as three swimmers posted personal bests and Christian Desjarlais won the consolation final in the 200m freestyle at Kinsmen Pool Saturday.

BEAVERTON, Oregon – Trinity Western University swimmers Christian Desjarlais and Patrick Loftus posted both CIS and Canadian Senior National Championships qualification times this past weekend in what was an impressive showing from the two first-year Spartans at the annual Paul Bergen Junior International SCM Championships.

RICHMOND, British Columbia – In what was the last meet of 2011 for most of the Trinity Western swimming team members, the Spartans went into the Christmas break with a bang after another successful weekend in the water, this time with Lindsay Romkes, Sally Wallick and Nick Welychko leading the way at the Richmond Rapids hosted FastSwim 2011 at Watermania.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western swimmer Christian Desjarlais qualified for the CIS national championships in the 400m freestyle event after clocking a time of 4:00.46 this weekend at the Langley Olympian Invitational at the Walnut Grove Community Centre.

BURNABY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western swim team has guaranteed itself at least one spot at this year’s CIS national championship as Lindsey Romkes became the first ever Spartans swimmer to qualify for the season ending competition when she posted a time of 2.21.31 in the 200m butterfly Sunday at the SFU Clan Cup International.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – The Trinity Western men’s and women’s swim teams opened the 2011-12 season by swimming in their first official meet as a varsity club and had an impressive showing, led by Christian Desjarlais on the men’s side and Lindsay Romkes on the women’s side, at the Vancouver Pacific Swim Club Invitational Saturday and Sunday.
FARKASH FINISHES SECOND AT EDMONTON ITU AGE GROUP TRIATHLON

EDMONTON, Alberta – Trinity Western University triathlete Alison Farkash (Vermilion, Alta.) finished second at the Edmonton ITU Age Group Olympic Distance Triathlon (1500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run) in a time of 2:13:31 Sunday.
