SPARTANS FALL TO CASCADES IN FINAL REGULAR SEASON GAME

LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western women’s basketball team dropped its final game of the regular season as they fell 74-65 to Fraser Valley Thursday at the Langley Events Centre. The Spartans are now 8-10 on the season and will now need a lot of help from other teams to make the playoffs while the Cascades are 12-6 and have secured second place in the West Division.

With a potential play-off spot on the line the Trinity Western Spartans will host the UFV Cascades to conclude the Canada West season. LANGLEY, British Columbia – For the second night in a row, the Trinity Western women’s basketball team was bettered by visiting Thompson Rivers as the Spartans fell 76-58 Saturday at the Langley Events Centre.
SPARTANS DOWNED BY WOLFPACK

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Despite a double-double from Trinity Western’s Tiffany Olsen in which she had 19 points and 11 rebounds, the Spartans women’s basketball team fell 66-61 to Thompson Rivers Friday at the Langley Events Centre.
SPARTANS LOOK FOR PLAY-OFF PUSH DOWN THE STRETCH

LANGLEY, British Columbia – This weekend the Trinity Western Spartans return home after a successful three week road trip, which saw the Spartans win four of five games. The Spartans are looking to earn a first ever play-off hosting spot as they to host the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack. Three wins in their final three home games will give the Spartans second place in the Pacific Division. It all starts with Friday’s game, which tips off at 6 p.m., while Saturday’s is set for 5 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on Canadawest.TV. ABBOTSFORD, British Columbia – Led by Laurelle Weigl with 18 points and 10 rebounds and Emily Knauff with 16 points and six rebounds the Trinity Western University Spartans defeated the No. 10 University of the Fraser Valley Cascades 71-59 in the inaugural Battle of the Valley at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre Saturday night in Abbotsford, B.C.
SPARTANS PUSH NO. 1 COUGARS

REGINA – The unranked Trinity Western University women’s basketball team gave the No. 1 University of Regina Cougars everything that they could handle Saturday night in Regina. Everything, but the loss as the top ranked Cougars pulled away in the fourth quarter to earn a 65-52 win over the Spartans at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.
SPARTANS CARKNER STEALS WIN OVER BOBCATS

BRANDON – Led by point guard Stephanie Carkner the Trinity Western University women’s basketball team overcame a sloppy first quarter to earn a 63-41 victory over the Brandon University Bobcats Friday night in Brandon, Manitoba. The win moves the Spartans over .500 at 7-6, while the Bobcats remain winless at 0-13.
SPARTANS BACK TO EVEN PAR AFTER SWEEP OF HEAT

KELOWNA, British Columbia – Led by Sarah Cleveland with 15 points and Janelle Traber with 13 points the Trinity Western Spartans completed the weekend sweep of the UBC Okanagan Heat with a solid 63-50 victory Saturday evening in Kelowna, B.C.
