LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western University Director of Athletics Murray Hall announced Thursday that Basketball Manitoba High Performance coach and current Red River College head coach Cheryl Jean-Paul will lead the TWU women’s basketball team into the future as the new head coach of the Spartans.

EDMONTON - The Canada West basketball men’s and women’s wild card teams have been decided, and the Lethbridge Pronghorns have been named the final team to make the post-season on both sides of the ledger.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – This weekend’s Canada West women’s basketball match-up feature two teams battling for fourth spot in the Pacific Division. The Spartans sit at 2-11 with the WolfPack one up at 3-11. Both teams have been struggling of late with the WolfPack coming into the weekend having lost four straight and the Spartans having dropped seven CW conference games in a row.
SPARTANS HOST DINOS AND PRONGHORNS

LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Spartans will host the University of Calgary Dinos and the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns this weekend to conclude the fall semester. The Spartans enter the weekend on a high after a weekend split with No. 7 University of Victoria. The Dinos come into this weekend’s game suffering a pair of losses at the hands of the Saskatchewan Huskies. The Pronghorns enter the weekend at 4-4 after a weekend sweep of the University of Manitoba Bisons. The Spartans are trying to close in on the final Pacific Division playoff spot, the Dinos are trying to keep a hold of the final spots in the Prairie Division, while the Pronghorns are looking to close in on one of the final playoff spots in the Prairie Division.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western University Spartans will play host to the Victoria Vikes in a pair of games this weekend, with Friday’s tip-off at 6 p.m. and Saturday’s at 5 p.m. Last week the Spartans split the weekend with their first win of the year at Brandon (73-45) and followed up with a loss at Regina (66-37). The Vikes also split last weekend’s games as well opening with a loss to Alberta (65-75) before picking up their first win in Canada West hosting Saskatchewan (58-52). Both teams are 1-2 on the season coming into this weekend’s home stand.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – When Trinity Western University women’s basketball coach Kerby Court opened training camp this summer he was optimistic with what he had in front of him. Two months later and the entire scenario and expectations for the 2009-10 Spartans has been radically changed because of illness, injury and early graduation.
