LANGLEY, British Columbia
– Two-time defending CIS champion Trinity Western University continues to get richer as the Spartans women’s soccer coach Graham Roxburgh announced Tuesday morning that Vancouver Whitecaps Reserve defender/midfielder Jennifer Castillo has been added to the Spartans 2010 recruiting class.

“Since the first time I watched Jenn play, I knew she was a player that could make a great impact at the next level and will add great options for us as a team,” commented Roxburgh. “In Jenn, we are adding a fantastic player who has many great qualities. She has great speed and is very athletic. She has the ability to defend and attack out of the back and is very effective in her ability to play both at the back and in midfield. I am so excited that Jenn has committed her future to TWU.”

The future grad of Fraser Heights Secondary has been one of the top players in the lower mainland in each age group that she has competed. She has been a member of the Team BC U14, U15 and U16 teams as well as the NTC U 15 and U16 squads.

“Jenn is a really great person, I have been impressed every time we interacted and we are confident that not only will she fit in with our team culture, but she is the type of person who will add to that and enhance our program,” added Roxburgh. “She has been a standout player on a number of levels and I know that she will help continue to strive for success both off and on the field”

The 5’6” native of Surrey, B.C. commented on her reason for attending TWU this fall: “Trinity Western has one of the top reputations in the country for the soccer program and for academics.”
