WINNIPEG – For the second time in two nights the Trinity Western University women’s volleyball team had their hearts broken in five sets as they saw their season end with a 25-20, 22-25, 25-23, 21-25, 15-12 loss to the No. 5 University of Regina Cougars in the Canada West Final Four bronze medal match at the Investors Group Athletic Centre in Winnipeg.

WINNIPEG – It wasn’t easy, but the No. 3 University of Manitoba Bisons women’s volleyball team are now headed to the gold medal match of the Canada West Final Four tournament after picking up a thrilling 3-2 (24-26, 25-21, 25-18, 23-25, 15-11) win over the No. 4 Trinity Western University Spartans Friday night at the Investors Group Athletic Centre in Winnipeg.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Sparked by a near record breaking 67 digs the No. 4 Trinity Western University women’s volleyball team defeated the No. 7 University of Alberta 3-0 in an impressive defensive display Friday night at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C. The 33-31, 25-17, 25-23 win gives the Spartans the weekend 2-0 over the visiting Pandas and advances TWU to the Canada West Final Four.

KAMLOOPS, British Columbia – Led by outside Kara Jansen Van Doorn of Langley, B.C. with 11 kills, seven digs and four aces the Trinity Western University women’s volleyball defeated the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack 3-0 and in the process earned third place in Canada West and the right to host a first round play-off series. The 25-15, 25-11, 25-17 victory Saturday night at the Tournament Capital Centre moves the Spartans to 13-7, while the loss drops the WolfPack 1-19.

KAMLOOPS, British Columbia – Led by outside Kara Jansen Van Doorn of Langley, B.C. with 14 kills, five digs and five blocks and middle Amy Lescheid of East Selkirk, Man. with 11 kills the Trinity Western University women’s volleyball team moved one step closer to hosting the first round of the Canada West play-offs with a straight sets win over the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack Friday night at the Tournament Capital Centre in Kamloops, B.C.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Led by fifth year outside Carmen Dyck of Creston, B.C. and fourth year outside Kara Jansen Van Doorn of Langley, B.C. with 12 kills each the Trinity Western University women’s volleyball team took just over an hour to earn a straight sets 25-15, 25-15, 25-16 victory over the visiting University of Saskatchewan Huskies Saturday night at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C. The victory gives TWU the weekend sweep (3-0, 3-0) and moves the No. 5 Spartans to 11-7, while the loss drops the Huskies to 3-15.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Led by middle Amy Leschied, of East Selkirk, Man., who finished with 12 kills and four blocks the No. 5 ranked Trinity Western University Spartans defeated the visiting University of Saskatchewan Huskies in straight sets 25-19, 25-18 and 25-17 Friday night at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C. to improve to 10-7, while dropping the Huskies to 3-14.
