Spartans Extend Streak to Seven
TWU sweeps TRU 3-0 and sit on top of Canada West

KAMLOOPS, British Columbia - CIS Via player of the week Jodi Schaufele led the Spartans with nine kills and six digs as Trinity Western University defeated the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-23) Friday night in Kamloops, BC. The win moves TWU to 11-2 and sole possession of first place in Canada West, while the loss drops TRU to 1-14.

“It was a good team effort tonight and it was great to sweep the match,” said TWU Head Coach Carol Hofer. “I think that we have another gear that we can find to pick it up some more tomorrow.”

TWU’s Julie Blackburn and Anna Paddock led all players with 13 digs and 34 assists respectively. The Spartans Liz Spear added seven kills to the TWU attack.

The two teams will play again Saturday night in Kamloops. Match time is set for 7:30 pm.

Match Notes: TWU finished with 39 kills (27%), while TRU finished with 23 kills (2%)...the Spartans had seven team blocks, while the WolfPack had three...
