![]() | Mar 2 Spartans Fall to Dinos Women's Volleyball - date: Mar. 2nd, 2006 CALGARY – The Trinity Western University women’s volleyball team opened their first ever CIS championship with a 3-0 loss to the Championship host, University of Calgary, Thursday night in Calgary. The pressure of their first experience on a championship court showed in the first set as the Spartans struggled early and fell 25-17. TWU regrouped and took control of the second set and led 12-3 early in the set, but the Dinos rallied from the deficit to take the critical set 26-24. The loss took the wind out of the Spartans as the Dinos used the energy from the home crowd and the momentum of the second set victory to sweep the Spartans with a 25-16 third set win. |
