The TWU women’s volleyball team launches the 2010-11 Canada West regular season on the road against UBC(October 29-30) – the three-time defending national champions and holders of a 40-game undefeated streak against CIS opposition – and, in reality, it’s not much different than an ocean plunge on New Year’s Day. LANGLEY, British Columbia – With a pair of wins this weekend, the Trinity Western University women’s volleyball team can clinch a play-off spot in the Canada West this weekend. To complete that task, they must earn a weekend split as they host the Saskatchewan Huskies at the Langley Events Centre. These two teams will meet up Friday night at 6 p.m. and then again on Saturday night at 5 p.m.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – The No. 4 ranked Trinity Western University Spartans are set to take on the No. 6 ranked University of Regina Cougars. The Spartans come into the matchup after earning a split with Alberta (1-3, 3-1) last weekend while the Cougars are coming off a pair of losses to the top ranked UBC Thunderbirds (2-3, 1-3). Leading the way for the Spartans last week was fifth year Carmen Dyck (Creston, B.C.) with 24 kills over the weekend. The Cougars were led by fifth year Beth Clark and third year Megan Onstad with 24 kills apiece. It should be a hard fought match as potential Canada West hosting playoff spots are in the mix as both teams need to move up in the standings and cannot afford to drop matches.
WVB: SPARTANS HOST BOBCATS IN TOP TEN MATCH UP AT THE LEC

LANGLEY, B.C. - The No. 8 Trinity Western University Spartans are set to take on the No. 9 ranked Brandon University Bobcats. The Spartans had a week off last weekend while the Bobcats swept the University of Saskatchewan Huskies 3-1, and 3-0.
