Kerry Van Der Griend, MFA

  • Biography

    Kerry’s past teaching experience includes Gastown Actors’ Studio, William Davis Centre, and Vancouver Film School. In addition to teaching, Kerry acts, directs, and produces in theatre and film. Most recently he directed and helped produce the world premiere of The Selkie Wife by TWU graduate Mary J. Eden (née Erin Mahoney) at the Vancouver Fringe Festival. As an actor he has appeared on stages from Western Canada Theatre Company to Bard on the Beach, and most recently at Pacific Theatre in Mourning Dove and the Jessie Award-winning Grace. He can be seen as a Neanderthal in Night at the Museum, and as a guard in the upcoming JJ Abrams TV series Alcatraz. Other recent TV credits include Coors Light, Health Nutz, Hiccups, and Supernatural. Founder and Artistic Producer of little i productions, Kerry received his BA in Theatre and Communications from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and his MFA in Acting from the National Theatre Conservatory in Denver. He has been involved in Vancouver theatre for fifteen years as a board member, actor, director, producer, and teacher.
