Beyond Borders: CCCU 2008 Joint IT/Finance Conference

Sponsored by the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. Organized by the CCCU Council on Technology. Hosted by Trinity Western University.

Conference date and location:

The 2008 Conference will be held at Trinity Western University from May 27th to May 30th. Where is TWU? Google maps has the answer! (We also have maps of the campus.) Vancouver is the site of the 2010 Winter Olympics and has also been ranked 3rd in the world by the Mercer Worldwide Quality of Living Survey 2007  as the best city to live in.

Conference theme:

With the conference being held for the first time outside of the United States, it is only fitting that we have the theme of "Beyond Borders" recognizing that as Finance leaders and professionals we are continuing our expanding roles within our institutions.

Conference overview:

Those of us who attended the joint conference last June at Messiah College were enriched by engaging content, great fellowship and the warm hospitality of our friends at Messiah. We are continuing the "joint" conference venue with IT this year because of obvious synergy between the two groups and the potential for overlapping topics of interest to both areas.

The annual CCCU CFO conference has historically been restricted to CFO's. For the first time this May we are expanding the invitation list to include other finance staff. We recognize some CFO's also have operations in their portfolio, but this year's conference is intended to focus on "Finance" so please bring colleagues who serve in finance or invite them to attend in your place. This is not intended to be restrictive so please feel free to send an operational leader if you think they will benefit from the conference.

This year's conference will be held at Trinity Western University and marks the first time the conference will be held outside of the US. The conference location, close to both Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, British Columbia will provide a number of transportation options for conference guests. Proximity to a number of local tourist destinations such Vancouver's Gastown, area parks such as Stanley Park, Whistler village which will host the 2010 Winter Olympics, and many other sights within reach of the conference location will offer guests a variety of vacation choices before and after the conference.

An online survey has been set-up to help us create conference sessions with targeted content that is high quality and not generally available through other channels. Early survey results reflect an overwhelming interest in training to develop a Five Year Business Model. This will be a key session at the conference and will integrate nicely with the conference theme "Beyond Borders" as we look beyond the borders of the current fiscal year.

We want the conference to serve your needs and we need your feedback to effectively serve the CCCU CFO's. This only takes two minutes so please participate in this survey by clicking on the following link:
