Strategic Systems Team (SST)
The SST is a group of software developers from many departments around Trinity Western University. We work together to create systems for staff, faculty, and students to use. Most of our work goes into web applications like the Admissions Application, Online Registration, Website Author, TWU Pass, and Chapel Recordings. Lately, we've been consolidating our work into two main projects: the Services For You portal and Aqueduct.

Systems We Support
SST now supports about 60 different systems. Since 2005, we've been moving toward a more centralized model to reduce the maintenance overhead by combining all our work into a single system, called Aqueduct. History
SST was established officially on February 15th, 2004, made from a few smaller groups, including the ESST. As more departments have hired people on, we've been able to grow to about 6 developers over the last few years. Our biggest project, Aqueduct, was started in 2005 and we're continuing to add new modules to it.
In 2006, SST was moved into the Information Technology department (IT), which allowed us to consolidate our technology efforts even more, putting the server admins and the programmers all under the same umbrella.
2007 was an exciting year - Aqueduct was a finalist for the MSDN Code Awards and Tyndale University College & Seminary is now collaborating with us on the software. We also adopted a couple new management strategies - Test-Driven Development and Scrum-based Management.
