Long Distance Services

Long distance plans are reviewed and negotiated on you behalf. TWU have carefully selected a carrier to meet the needs of students wishing to call long distance.

While TWU make every effort to assist with the signup process the final contract is between the student and the carrier. TWU therefore cannot assist with long distance billing or technical difficulties and students are encouraged to deal directly with the provider by calling the customer service number provided on the calling card.

All long distance plans are billed monthly and expire on August 31 each year. Students are therefore required to apply annually. Additional information together with current options, instructions for signup and activation are available here.

The instructions above are for the benefit of full time resident students and may not apply May through August.
While residents are free to use their own personal calling cards (also available at the TWU Bookstore), the rates are often 3-4 times the cost that we have negotiated.

Instructions for calling Long Distance

Residents using the long distance plan as described above should dial 89 + your long distance calling card number + 1 + area code + number. (this is available ONLY on campus phones)
Residents wishing to use their own calling card simply need to dial 9 followed by the instructions on their card.
