Wow! What an amazing week! That was, and I am sure will always be, the best class I have ever taken. A week filled with canoeing in the moonlight, singing in the hottub at midnight, racing on horseback, hay-riding, hiking, swimming in a cold, clean lake and participating in a phenomenal class about Acts. If anyone reading this has not taken a retreat course, you really need to. It was the funnest week of school I have had yet. I am going to attach some photos of our class. This ranch is a beautiful place and I hope that TWU takes students there again. A winter retreat would be awesome as we talked about while we were there! I met so many new people and, spending so much time with them living in cabins, brought us all a lot closer in a very short time. Alison
Hey, everyone
My name is Forest, and I took two retreat classes at Spring Lake Ranch. I had a blast during the time there. I went horse back riding, canoeing and went on horse-drawn hay rides. I think Spring Lake Ranch is the place for learning and recreation. I love the lake and I could appreciate God's creation through it everyday. For the academic part, the classes were quite intense in a week, and lots of memorization work was needed but I think everyone in my class had a fun time learning and discussing things that we would not have had time to discuss during the regular semester class time. Among all the things, I loved the food and the hot tub most at the retreat centre. John and Myrna are awesome cooks!

P.S. This is not an advertisement but a real appreciation from my experience.
The retreat course was amazing! The cooking, the conversations...Besides the obvious wealth of the course material, which led to growth in our lives. I really valued getting to know each one of my fellow classmates. I think it was a week where our world seemed connected. We could live out that connection that really does exist between all the various aspects (spiritual, emotional, physical, etc.) of our lives, but which we so often separate. In the presence of God, who was so clearly active, and among friends, many have turned a page, taken another step in the journey. I know I did. Anne (PSYC 411).
The PSYC 411 retreat course served as an opportunity to learn in a context that cannot be recreated in a classroom setting. I was able to spend a week in the beautiful northern British Columbia at a fantastic ranch while learning about the subject I love most. the course made me think critically about how psychology and spirituality relate to each other. I grew mentally, emotionally, and spiritually because of this course and my professor. I would strongly recommend it to anyone interested in stretching themselves in all aspects of life.
