The first year of university is a HUGE adjustment for most students. If you are also adjusting to a new PLACE, a new CULTURE, a new LANGUAGE, and new ways of LEARNING, this first year is often very, very challenging.

The UT1 program is designed to walk through this first year with you. You will develop relationships through classmates and professors who care about you and about what it is like to study university as a global student.

You will become part of a community. You will find that you have a lot to share, and you will find people who want to know you better. You will find that you are not just a face or an ID number. You matter.

You will discover that you have many gifts and opportunities to use them. You will be encouraged and motivated to study, learn and grow, to be an important contributor to the world.

The UT1 program combines the first year of your bachelor's degree with lots of support. You will have "Integration and Engagement" classes to help you understand and work on the assignments and skills and topics of your courses. You will have a personal "Learning Coach" to help you one-on-one. You will have a discussion leader who will help you understand your courses in your first language. You will have unique courses to help you become active and involved in the TWU community and develop leadership skills for the future. You will have classmates, dorm mates, and team mates.

Through these features, the UT 1 Program is intentionally distinct. It is about living and learning authentically, guiding you  to become the young men and women God has made you to be.
