Description: |
ARTstor is a digital library of art images, information about the images, and software
tools designed to enhance teaching, learning, and scholarship.
ARTstor contains approximately 500,000 images of art, architecture,
painting, sculpture, photography, decorative arts, design,
archaeology, and other elements of visual culture. The images in
ARTstor come from a wide range of civilizations, with initial
strengths in European, American, and Asian cultures.
The collection has
been derived from several source collections that are the product of
collaborations with libraries, museums, photographic archives,
publishers, slide libraries, and individual scholars.
ARTstor's proprietary
software tools enable users to search for images online, analyze the
images through features such as zooming and panning, and to save
groups of images for personal or group uses, as well as for use in
lectures and other presentations, either online or off-line.
