About E-STAT:
E-STAT is an interactive tool about society and the economy in Canada, free online and available only to educational institutions. E-STAT contains Canada-wide community information, CANSIM, current and historical population and agriculture census data, Human activity and the environment and Aboriginal Peoples Survey. Transform these statistics into colourful maps and graphs as well as prepare tables of data using E-STAT.
Using approximately 2,600 tables from
CANSIM*, you can track trends in virtually every aspect of the lives of Canadians. Updated once a year during the summer, CANSIM contains more than 36 million time series. Select
Search CANSIM from the sidebar.
The data of the Censuses of population
and agriculture can be displayed in the form of tables, graphs and maps for several geographic areas. Select
Search Censuses from the sidebar.
Instead of starting with data choices, using Search map 2001, you begin by locating your place of interest on a map of Canada - province, region, city or neighbourhood. Then choose the particular 2001 Census characteristic - such as occupation or language - that you want to map. Unlike the regular E-STAT map created as an output of selected data, this thematic map provides street names at the neighbourhood level and is easier to navigate between geographic levels. Select Search map 2001 from the sidebar.
[Note:
In the summer of 2008, Search Map 2001 will no longer be available in E-STAT. Please see GeoSearch 2006]
Human Activity and the Environment (updated annually).
Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (data updated every four years on CANSIM):
