Alberta Newspaper Collection -- Part of the Alberta Heritage Digitization Project, this is a very fine collection of historical newspapers that have been digitized. It includes wide, although not exhaustive, coverage of several major daily newspapers from Calgary and Edmonton, as well less complete coverage of local newspapers from smaler cities and towns. Because the collection contains only scanned images of the newspapers, the contents are not searchable. They can only be browsed by date and location. The images include commercial and classified advertising.

The Canadian Historic Newspapers Collection -- is a collection of 88 free online newspapers. Very few of them have long or complete runs, but, in addition to English, they include native-language newspapers from a number of significant Canadian ethnic groups including: Chinese, French, Metis, and the South Asian community.

The Paper of Record -- PaperofRecord.com is a Global pioneer of searchable newspaper image documents presented in their original published form. It requires users to set up a free account, but in return offers access to more than 21 million images. Newsapers are from Canada and 14 other countries around the world.
