Nurses rely on evidence to inform their clinical decisions and nursing practice. Evidence-based practice has been defined as “the conscientious integration of best research evidence with clinical expertise and patient values and needs in the delivery of quality, cost-effective health care” (Sacket, Strauss, Rosenberg, & Haynes, 2000).
