Canon Law

The search for biblical passages consists of the abbreviation of the biblical book concerned (see Alphabetical Listing of the Books of the Bible and the Apocrypha and their abbreviations), the two-figure number of the chapter and possibly, after a comma, the two-figure number of the verse (note: use three-figure numbers in the Book of Psalms).

E.g.: "Gen 01*" or "1 Kor 15*" lists all data-sets which refer to chapter 1 of the book of Genesis or to chapter 15 of the First letter to the Corinthians and to the single verses of the respective chapter.

"Gen 28,10 - 22" lists all titles referring to chapter 22:10-22 of the Book of Genesis;

"Ps 002,07" lists all data-sets referring to Ps 2:7.

Created by the School of Theology @ The University of Innsbruck (Austria) this site consists of a number of databases, which can be searched individually or together:

Biblical Literature (BILDI): contains approximately 60,000 classified titles: about 30,000 of these are taken from 85 of the most relevant periodicals and from about 400 other periodicals and annuals; about 24,000 are taken from collected works and Festschriften; the remaining titles are biblical monographs.

1. Systematic & Fundamental Theology: contains about 3,000 monographs, articles from collective works and articles from 30 journals dealing with systematic and fundamental theology. The index was begun in 1994.
2. Canon Law: contains about 2,000 monographs, articles from collective works and articles from 20 journals dealing with canon law. The index was begun in 1995.

Base of recording of hints to book reviews: data material of the Biblical Institute in Rome

Period and media of recording : card-catalogue (1980-1984), since 1985 computerized. Recording and computerization of card-titles in work.
