Interview Policies
The Career Development Office works hard to provide services to help the client be successful in their job search.  Missed appointments or cancellations inconvenience employers and are inconsiderate of other students who may have desired an appointment but were unable to get on the interview schedule.  Missed appointments also have negative implications on the University’s relationship with the employer and can affect opportunities for other TWU students.  This policy refers to all on-campus interviews, employer mock interviews and other employer appointments.

Recruitment Guidelines
Alcohol:  TWU is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), the professional association for university recruiters and career professionals.  The Career Development Office abides by the Principles of Professional Conduct which states that “Serving alcohol should not be part of the recruitment process on or off campus.  This includes receptions, dinners, company tours, etc.”  We encourage students not to partake of any alcohol beverage during the interview process.  This could be detrimental to receiving an offer for employment.

Employment Offer Guidelines
When accepting an offer of employment, there is a commitment to that employer.  Before accepting an offer, all options should be considered.  Breaking a work contract or failing to carry out a promise on an offer would reflect poorly on the client, other students, the Career Office and Trinity Western University.  These type of actions may hinder future opportunities for other TWU students.

After accepting an offer, the job search must end.  A commitment has been made.  The client’s next step is to change their online job search profile to show they are no longer seeking employment and removing resumes for consideration for other job opportunities.   If there are other pending interviews, cancelation of  appointments as soon as possible is expected to allow other candidates the opportunity to interview.

Mock Interviews
A mock interview with an employer or staff member is a commitment they have made from their busy schedules to assist you with the client’s interview skills and provide students with constructive feedback.  A minimum of 24 hours notice is expected if unable to keep your appointment.
