GL (General Ledger) Code Explanation

GL Codes are commonly abbreviated to the form ####-####, but to make this completely clear for Finance/Payroll, we use a full 15-digit code.
The complete 15 digit number is in the form 0#   01   ########00#, where

• 0#is the Company Number:
  • 01 = TWU
  • 02 = TWU Student Association
  • 03 = TWU Graduate Student Association
  • 06 = ACTS


• 01 is always 01


• #### is the Department Number, which you should have


• ####is the Account Number, which you should have:
  • 5990 is the Operational Budget
  • 5020 is the Salary Budget


• 00# is almost always 000

So unless you're posting a job for TWUSA, TWUGSA, or ACTS, you can probably convert your #### #### into the 15-digit code like this:
