The wage classification guidelines are now included in the On Campus Employer tool in Aqueduct. As you create a new job posting, the tool will show you the rates appropriate for the position.
If you think a position should be in a different classification, please contact the Campus Student Employment Coordinator (Lois Penner ext. 3616) at the Student Success Centre.
Example positions:
| Hourly** | Statutory Pay | Vacation | Total** | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| First Year | $10.25 | $0.37 | $0.42 | $11.04 |
| Second Year* | $10.56 | $0.38 | $0.44 | $11.38 |
*A student who continues in a position from the first year with the same job responsibilities qualify for the second year rate. (This is not based on how many years the student has been at TWU or how many credits they have earned.) Each position carries only one increase (after the first year).
**The Hourly rates are the figures recorded on the time sheet. Vacation pay will now be calculated on the gross and paid on regular pay days and will show up on the pay stub on a separate line instead of being included in the hourly rate.
These are positions that require significant technical expertise and/or some significant responsibility (e.g. supervision of others).
