Preparing for the Career Fair
Preparation:
Pre-registration: Students & Alumni who pre-register before Friday, January 27th will have the opportunity to attend pre-career fair workshops and will be entered into our DOOR PRIZES DRAW! If you do not have a chance to pre-register you will be able to register at the Fair.
Research: Continue to check back on the Career Fair website to view the updated list of confirmed employers attending the Fair. Take the time to research the organizations that will be attending so that you may have informed discussions with prepared relevant questions. Decide which employers interest you, and target your research and time with them. Check out the Guide to Researching Companies as well as some fun Career Fair Tips from this Youtube video.
Resumes: Review the exhibitors and modify your resume accordingly. Fourth-year students, book an appointment for a resume critique by phoning the Career Development Office in the Student Success Centre, Reimer Student Centre, Second Floor (604-513-2017). For first, second and third-year students, consider coming to Walk-in Wednesday where you are able to have a career professional provide you with quick suggestions and guidance. Refer to the resume-writing tips for more information about how to prepare your resume and be ready with plenty of copies to give to exhibitors.
