Apply to Co-op Education

The Procedure

  1. Schedule an appointment with The Student Success Centre to see if Co-op is right for you.
  2. Log-in to the TWU Career Connect website and start filling out the "Co-op/Internship Information" form. (To find this form log-in to Career Connect, click on "Profile" on the menu bar across the top of the page then click on "Co-op/Internship Information").
  3. Begin thinking about when you would want to do your work-terms.
  4. Plan on taking Career Prep 100, a 1 semester hour course (it is ideal to take this course before doing a work-term).
  5. Find a cop-op job either on Career Connect or on your own and fill out the "Basic Info" needed under "Exp Learning" on your TWU Career Connect student account (to walk through this process set-up an appointment with Mike).

The Entrance Interview

The Coordinator for the Career Experience Office will interview you after receiving all necessary paperwork and a transcript. Selection into the program is based on:

  • Academic performance-minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Communication skills
  • Attitude/motivation
  • Permission from your Academic Advisor
  • Entrance Interview

Career Prep 100 (Career Preparation)

This career orientation course covers: a biblical perspective of the role of career development and work life; Christian principles for career exploration and planning; developing self, occupational and economic awareness; utilizing integrative and strategic career decision making processes, and pre-employment skills.
