Application Process: Must hand in a resume and be interviewed by the Challenge Course Manager
Relevant Deadlines: Training starts in August. Must be accepted before July. Preferably by April.
Remuneration: Hourly wage based on experience.
Qualifications: Very strong people skills. Desire to work with and help people. Challenge course experience an asset but not required.
Necessary Skills: Must attend desig<_st13a_personname>nated training in August, and continue to enhance skills throughout the year. Good skills in relating and listening to people a must.
Skills to be developed: Technical skills on safety and set up of challenge courses. Communication, leadership and teamwork skills with others and developing in yourself will be done constantly.
Focus of Responsibilities: Working with clients on the challenge course making sure that they are safe at all times, the course is set up and running efficiently, and helping people to develop life skills in leadership, communication, trust, teamwork and many others. Contract work developed when clients come to the course.
Type/Frequency of Performance Assessment: After each day on the course; how the day went and your skills are evaluated and encouraged to grow. You are encouraged to develop more skills throughout the year. This is assessed each time on the course.
Description of Mentoring: You will be working with the Challenge Course Coordi<_st13a_personname>nator and learning more about challenge courses, technical skills and how to work with people. The Coordi<_st13a_personname>nator will make every effort to help you with your life skill development and relating to people.
Time Expectations: Week training in August. Available to work when groups book time on the course. Usually Saturdays all day. Expected to do at least one -two Saturdays a month from September to November and March to May. Could lead to more work in the summer.
