The student short film competition began as a Student Life initiative in 2005-2006 and has become a popular event with budding filmmakers in the TWU community. In 2010-11, it merged with Film Studies' student film showcasing event, Cinergy. This event takes places later in the spring semester. The top winners cash or awards from major sponsors such as Apple and the judges are always from the professional film industry in Vancouver, Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.Cinergy Student Short Film Competition
