Making a Chapel Announcement

If you have an event that you would like to promote through chapel, please consider the following information:

  • Chapel Announcements are made on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
  • Due to the brevity of chapel, we make no more than 4 announcements on Mondays and Wednesdays, and 5 on Fridays.
  • We try not to have more than one announcement in the form of a personal "plug" or a video in one day; these should not be any longer than 45 seconds in length; video announcements should come in the form of a DVD, preferably one day in advance.
  • We try not to highlight any one ministry/group more than once in a set of announcements.
  • To submit a chapel announcement, please observe the following steps:
    • Visit or phone (ext. 2025) the Student Life Office to see if there is still a slot available for the days on which you'd like to make an announcement, and sign up for an available slot.
    • Write the basic details of your announcement on the provided blue forms in the Student Life Office, or email the information to Carla Splinter.  Alternatively, you may want to provide your own Powerpoint Slide that she can simply include in the set of slides (preferably no more than one).  Be sure to include the following: Group sponsoring; name and very basic description of the event, date(s), time(s), and location.
  • Before promoting your event, please ensure that all event and location approvals have been completed.
  • Chapel announcements are included on a first-come, first-served basis (assuming your event has been approved).
