A disciple is a follower of Jesus Christ, someone who desires to know Christ personally and seeks to put aside their own self-centred agenda to follow Him (Luke 9:23). At Trinity Western University, we believe in the transformational power of Jesus Christ to change individual’s lives. A great way to experience this is within the context of an authentic biblical community.
The life of a disciple is not to be experienced alone. We were designed for relationship and discipleship groups are a great place to get involved and share in what God is doing. Discipleship groups offer a safe and fun environment where you are invited to be yourself and grow with others on the faith journey. Group times include prayer, biblical teaching, food, fun, and opportunities to serve. The people you meet in your group could become lifelong friends!
This fall, discipleship groups will study the book of Romans - a book written by Paul in which he lays out the heart of the gospel: how we can be reconciled to God and transformed into the people He means us to be. In the spring, groups choose their own material based on their unique interests.
Groups meet once a week and are facilitated by a discipleship leader who in turn are mentored by a discipleship coordinator. There are 25 groups in total. You can choose one based on the day of the week, the location (on or off campus). There are separate groups for the guys and gals. All TWU students are welcome to get involved, so commuters - this is an important way for you to get connected!
