Student Led Local Outreach

Streetlight

east hastings

Streetlight is an outreach group that partners with Union Gospel Mission (UGM) to minister to the people in eastside Vancouver. Groups of Trinity Western University students wearing the UGM "blue coats" go out onto the streets every Friday night using hot chocolate and bag lunches as a platform to share Christ's love and build relationships with the people on the streets. Some students remain at the UGM to pray for the requests shared by the street teams. They end by sharing testimonials of their experiences that evening.

Streetlight also includes activities such as small group time, discipleship, mentoring, worship evenings, and weekly prayer meetings.

Discipleship, worship and prayer are the pillars of the ministry and support the outcome of outreach. The prayer of Street Evangelism is to actively demonstrate the hope and love of Christ to the people of the downtown Eastside of Vancouver.
