Intramural Eligibility Policy

Current CIS Athletes:

Athletic students may participate in Intramural Sports that are not the same or similar to their competitive sport. For example, if Joe plays CIS Soccer he may play Intramural Volleyball and Basketball but may not play Intramural Indoor Soccer, Outdoor Soccer or Dorm Football.

Former CIS Athletes:

Former CIS Athletes may participate in all Intramural Sports offered, with the following exception. A former CIS Athlete wanting to play the same sport that he / she played as a CIS Athlete must not have played the previous season in the CIS. In other words, if Joe played the 2008 – 2009 season in CIS Soccer, Joe will be eligible to play Intramural Soccer in Fall 2010.

Current University Club Athletes:

Club Athletes may participate in all Intramural Sports offered by Recreation Services under the following conditions:

  • Outdoor / Indoor Soccer:  Each team may have a maximum of 3 Club Soccer players. However, at least one of the three must be of the opposite gender.
  • Volleyball:  Each team may have a maximum of 2 Club Volleyball players. These players can be of either gender.
  • Basketball:  Each team may have a maximum of 2 Club Basketball players.

Former Club Athletes:

All former University Club Athletes may participate in any Recreation Services opportunity without restriction.
