Andrea Soberg, MIRHR, CPHR

Professor of Business; Director, Centre for Global Entrepreneurship; Sabbatical Fall 2023

Andrea Soberg has worked for TWU since 1999 and was Dean of the School of Business from 2008-2014. She holds a Master of Industrial Relations and Human Resources (MIRHR) degree from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Simon Fraser University, and has the Canadian professional certification for human resource management, Chartered Professional in HR (CPHR).

Andrea is a Professor, leading the HR Management specialization in the BBA program, and teaches in both the undergraduate and graduate business programs. She is also the Director of the Centre for Global Entrepreneurship, where she contributes to the research on HRM in indigenous Chinese firms.

In addition to her work at TWU, she continues to run People First Consulting where she works with organizations, in both the private and public sector, assisting them in becoming more productive and profitable through effective planning and use of their people. She has published many articles on different aspects of human resource management, been a presenter at national conferences, and has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at the business schools at the University of Victoria and Camosun College, Victoria. She was also a lead participant in the development of a corporate business program at a large organization in Chengdu, China.

Andrea is on Sabbatical for the Fall 2023 Semester.
