For all SGS programs except MA in Leadership* and MA in Counselling Psychology**
With the exception of parental leave and other certified medical leave, students must maintain active registration until all program requirements are completed for graduation, including all post-thesis/applied project responsibilities.
Once you register for Thesis I/Applied Project I you have 12 months to complete* the thesis/project before having to register for Continuation Status. Therefore if you register in Thesis I/Applied Project I in the Fall of 2012 you will need to complete your thesis/project by the end of August 2013 or register for Thesis/Applied Project Continuation Status in September 2013.
MA in Leadership (all streams)*
For information concerning Project Continuation Status contact the MA Lead Program Office
MA in Counselling Psychology (MCP) program** — With the exception of parental leave and other certified medical leave, students must maintain active registration until all program requirements are completed for graduation, including all post-thesis/applied project responsibilities. Students will register for Continuous Registration every Fall, Spring and Summer semester in which classes are not taken. For Thesis Continuation Status you need to register for Thesis I and Thesis II in subsequent semesters. If your thesis is not completed* by the end of the second semester you will need to register for Thesis Continuation Status in the third semester. Therefore if you register in Thesis I in the Fall of 2012 you will need to complete your thesis by the end of April 2013 or register for Thesis Continuation Status in May 2013. If you do not register for Thesis Continuation Status, the University reserves the right to register you for it and charge you the appropriate fees.
Thesis completion requires that the bound and unbound copies of the thesis, the data, and the electronic copy of the thesis have been submitted to the coordinator, Faculty of Graduate Studies, or the student has formally withdrawn from the program.
Applied Project completion means the project has been submitted and a grade assigned or the student has formally withdrawn from the program.
