Information on US Exchange Rates
The exchange rate used to receipt US funds is the rate of the day on which the funds are received at the university.
Trinity Western University determines the US Exchange Rate of the day as follows:
For Accounts Receivable – (the rate used to receipt payments) the rate is listed on the Royal Bank website under the column with the heading "Rate Bank will Buy from You"
You can view these rates at http://www.rbcroyalbank.com/rates/cashrates.html.
For Accounts Payable – (the rate used to refund overpayments) the rate is listed on the Royal Bank website column with the heading "Foreign Exchange Cheque Rate Converter".
You can view these rates at http://www.rbcroyalbank.com/RBC:TAffp6wWZA8AE7DSNjw/cgi-bin/travel/fxconvert.pl
Please Note: US Exchange rates can fluctuate several times a day. It is university policy to check the exchange rate once a day and if the exchange rate fluctuates up or down by greater than .01 the Finance Office adjusts the rate to reflect the change.
