Photo of Rick GossenRichard J. Goossen, PhD, is the CEO of M & A Capital Corp. and an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship & Strategy at the Trinity Western University School of Business . He directs the Centre for Entrepreneurial Leaders at the School of Business, and teaches at the undergraduate level as well as in the MBA programs.

Rick has over 20 years of experience as a strategy, finance, and growth consultant for entrepreneurial companies. He has been a director, officer, advisor, and shareholder of/for a number of companies in the following business sectors: financial services; pharmaceuticals; medical device technology; wireless internet; IT training & online education; online travel and loyalty programs; e-business systems integration; computer hardware distribution; application service providers; software development; resource and mining; property development; and management consulting.

Prior to his time at TWU, Rick worked in Hong Kong for five years with their largest national law firm (Johnson, Stokes & Master) and a leading merchant bank (Hambro Pacific). With respect to professional credentials, Rick was admitted as Barrister and Solicitor of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, in 1987, and voluntarily withdrew his membership in 1993 to focus entirely on entrepreneurial pursuits.

Rick's education includes the following: a PhD from Middlesex University, London, UK; a Masters of Law (LLM) from Columbia University, New York City; a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (Hons) from McGill University, Montreal; and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) (Hons) (First Class) from Simon Fraser University, Vancouver.

In addition, Rick is a professional public speaker. He has had countless speaking engagements in Europe, North America, and Asia.

Finally, he has authored and edited several books and he has written over 120 articles for diverse publications throughout the world, from leading academic journals to trade magazines and newspapers. Two of his most recent books are e-Preneur: From Wall Street to Wiki succeeding as a Crowdpreneur in the New Virtual Marketplace (Career Press, May 2008) and Entrepreneurial Excellence (Career Press, October 2007). Rick is a member of The Columbia Club of New York and a Life Member of the Simon Fraser University President's Club.
