Executive Certificate in Pentecostal Worship

The Executive Certificate in Pentecostal Worship is open to all those called to and gifted for the leadership of worship within the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. Course are available at the graduate, undergraduate, and not-for-credit levels.

Course Instructor: Brent Gibson, DWS. Brent Gibson is an Ordained Minister (2005) for the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC), and has been a worship leader/pastor for over fifteen years. He is married to Nancy (Cucheran), who is one of our PAOC Missionaries. Brent studied composition, arranging, and digital recording in Jazz and Commercial Music at Vancouver Community College (1998). He holds a B.A. in Church Music (1996) with a double major in piano and conducting from Northwest University in Kirkland, WA; a M.A. in Christian Studies with a double major in Church Leadership and Bible from ACTS Seminaries (2001) in Langley, BC; a Doctorate in Worship Studies (2009) from Robert E. Webber’s Institute of Worship Studies in Orange Park, FL; and most recently a Diploma in Audio Engineering and Music Production (2010) from Harbourside Institute of Technology in North Vancouver, BC. He has taught courses at the undergraduate level in worship theology, worship leadership, songwriting, contemporary music theory, and music administration for over 10 years. He is also passionate about recording and producing music for God’s Kingdom. He has done work as a studio musician for the pilot children’s television show “Wonder Wheels” and a Canadian Patriotic song, “Our Canada” at the early age of 16 years. He has traveled extensively in college across the Northwest United States as the primary keyboard player for various traveling groups appearing on National Television. He has also produced and recorded several music demos for local bands, musicians, and singers over the past five years. His dream is to raise up PAOC songwriters, musicians, and worship leaders and enable their music to be heard so that the Pentecostal “Voice” can resound in our local churches’ worship and praise and into the all the world.

The Executive Certificate in Pentecostal Worship is offered by the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, BC and Yukon District, to the wider Pentecostal Community. The goal is to raise up worship leaders, well versed in the practical and theological distinctives of worship in Pentecostal environments.
