The Canadian Pentecostal Research Network (CPRN) is a resource for the study of pentecostalism in Canada and throughout the world. Pentecostalism refers to a renewal movement within Christianity which emphasizes such things as experiential spirituality, spiritual gifts, healing, dreams and visions, prophecy, and spirit baptism. Pentecostalism is also a global movement. Globalization draws our attention to understand the ways in which pentecostalism is rooted in Canada and its relationship to the broader movement.
CPRN is a loosely connected network of scholars who study pentecostalism from a variety of disciplines including sociology, theology, religious studies, cultural studies, anthropology, and history. This website contains a variety of resources for students and researchers who want to study the movement in its many forms.
CPRN is maintained by Michael Wilkinson, Ph.D. Professor Wilkinson is a faculty member at Trinity Western University, Langley, British Columbia. Please feel free to contact him with any questions about CPRN. Your comments and suggestions are welcomed.
