Brothers Bike for ALS
“What would you do, while you still could?” This is the challenge TWU alumni Mike and Adam Teeter, along with their brother Aaron, are using to inspire support for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. This summer they biked across Canada to raise awareness and money for ALS in honour of their father, Steve, who died from the disease at age 37.

The brothers’ efforts to raise money and build community included events in cities like Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Halifax where supporters walked, ran, biked, or rollerbladed with them for five kilometers. They were sponsored by Trinity Western University, Norco Performance Bikes, Kia Motors, Kelsey’s Restaurant, and Gyptech, but their most dedicated supporters were their road crew, who also happened to be their wives.
The Teeter brothers raised over $35,000 to help families living with ALS and to enable the ALS Society of Canada to conduct research.
Says Mike, “Having dipped our tires in the Atlantic ocean, my brothers and I may have finished the physical journey of cycling the country, but our desire to encourage those living with ALS and their families will continue, including our efforts to raise $52,000 for ALS research and provincial patient care.”
