A Million Thanks

As a privately-funded, public university, TWU can only continue to grow and develop through the support of friends and partners. We are deeply grateful
for that support.

Trinity Western University Annual Fund

Through the generosity of supporters, the University fully achieved its 2007-08 goal of $2.2 million for the Annual Fund.

“This allows TWU to bridge the gap between student tuition and fees and the real cost of education — an additional $800 per student,” says David Coons, TWU’s vice-president of development. “As an independent university that does not receive government funding, TWU relies on support to the Annual Fund to cover the shortfall.”

Music Building

The University’s music program has come together under one roof, thanks to a $100,000 donation from Sodexo and other significant anonymous contributions. TWU’s new music building boasts comfortable practice and ensemble rooms, department offices, and band and orchestra rehearsal rooms, and has hit a high note with students and faculty.

Darkroom Project

A private donation supplemented by the Faculty of Professional Studies and Performing Arts budget has funded the first TWU photography darkroom.

“While digital photography provides instant results, there remains a disconnect in the physical formation of a photograph,” says Mike Rathjen, instructor. “Developing and printing black and white images in the traditional darkroom provides a hands-on approach to understanding the photographic process, from the click of the shutter through to the final print.”

Spartan Athletics Golf Tournament

The 14th annual WirelessWave Golf Tournament, benefitting TWU’s Spartan Athletics, raised $274,000 in 2007-08. Proceeds enhance TWU’s premier athletics program, build scholarships, and fund TWU’s award-winning Complete Champion Approach™. Since its inception, the tournament has raised over $1 million.
