TWU Scores Hat Trick!

The students have spoken and again have voted that Trinity Western University should receive an A+ for Quality of Education in The Globe and Mail Canadian University Report Card. This marks the University’s third consecutive A+ in this category since 2006.

Ranking 58 schools across Canada, the yearly report card “reflects the opinion of more than 43,000 current undergraduate students, and the results are derived from answers to more than 100 questions,” says The Globe and Mail, explaining their methodology.

TWU falls into the category of “Very Small” schools with enrolment under 4000 students, and competes in this group with 14 other schools. But “Quality of Education” was not the only category in which TWU received an A+. The University also earned top-marks in five other areas: most satisfied students, quality of teaching, student-faculty interaction, class size, and ease of course registration.

“We aren’t surprised to receive our third A+ in ‘Quality of Education,’” says Provost, Dennis Jameson, Ph.D. “We are, however, grateful that our students see and recognize our collective effort to provide the highest quality of transformative education. The faculty that TWU attracts is some of the best in the world.”

One of the key goals of the University’s Strategic Directions, a 19-page visionary document unveiled by President Jonathan Raymond, Ph.D., in fall 2008, is for TWU to become world-renowned for its educational vitality.

Jamie Hall, a student in her second year of the Master of Interdisciplinary Humanities program says, “TWU’s third A+ grade for quality of education confirms to me that this University provides high caliber education. Because of the quality of teaching, the personal investments that my professors have made in my life, and a continual challenge to think about the world around me, I feel prepared to move into a great career.”

TWU also scored high marks in course availability, student services, recreation and athletics, campus atmosphere, extra-curricular activities, career preparation, and academic reputation.
