The inter-cultural religious studies program at TWU explores the richness of various religions and beliefs, examining Christian responses to them. Students consider ways to meaningfully contextualize the message of the Gospel to various groups and begin to apply some of these ideas in a practical context through cross-cultural internships. A set of interdisciplinary requirements in biblical and theological foundations, mission history, cross-cultural understanding and faith perspectives prepares students to specialize in a stream of their choice. Students are equipped for further theological, biblical or intercultural studies, as well as careers in missions, politics, international development or conflict resolution.

  • Streams offered include: missions, global development, linguistics
  • TESOL (teaching English as a second or other language) certificate offered with the linguistics track
  • ICRS professor, Dr. Joanne Pepper, is a recipient of the Distinguished Teaching Award
