TWU’s biotechnology program equips students with the knowledge, experience, ethical framework and contacts necessary to pursue careers in this innovative field. Based in the chemistry and biology departments, this program is augmented with business and biotechnology courses. Graduates of the program are skilled in theoretical and practical science and business. They also have advanced training in bioinformatics and experience in the biotechnology industry through internships and co-ops. Students are encouraged to develop the ability to address ethical issues in their field through a thoughtful Christian perspective. Research in the industry is diverse and offers a variety of employment, including medical work, drug laboratory research and agricultural development.
- Degrees offered include the following: major in biotechnology; honours degree in biotechnology; multidisciplinary major in biotechnology and chemistry; interdisciplinary major in biotechnology and business administration
- Internships and paid co-op placements are available in Vancouver and Ottawa
