TWU students study mathematics as the language that natural and applied scientists and technologists use to plan, analyze, research, communicate ideas and develop new products. Students take a variety of courses in the sub-disciplines of pure and applied mathematics, including calculus, algebra, differential equations, number theory, mathematical physics, numerical methods, statistics and discrete mathematics. Each discipline has intrinsic value and has important applications in professional fields. Mathematics majors have gone on to graduate work and careers in government, education, industry and business. Students may choose electives from philosophy, English and/or history to complete their major.
- Faculty members specialize in pure and applied mathematics
