What is the difference between ENGL 103 and ENGL 100 level transfer?

Course transfers in one of two ways:

  1. A course from X college has the same content as a course at TWU. It will receive specific transfer credit (e.g. ENGL 1110 = TWUs ENGL 103).
  2. A course from X college is a valid and recognized course but TWU does not have a course equivalent to it. General undesignated transfer is assigned (e.g. ENGL 3120 = ENGL 300 Level).

Transfer anomalies

  1. TWU will not allow a student to declare a minor, concentration, or major in any discipline in which TWU does not offer such a minor, concentration, or major even if it was possible for the student to obtain at least one-half of his/her upper level courses at TWU in that minor, concentration, or major.
  2. In a discipline in which TWU offers one or more courses but not at least a minor (e.g. accounting, biology, German) no limit needs to be imposed on the number of transferable elective credits such a student can receive, regardless of whether the courses are lower or upper level.
  3. In a discipline in which TWU offers no courses whatsoever, transfer credit may be awarded for liberal arts and science courses of the type that would be appropriate for TWU to offer (e.g. in languages such as Spanish, Chinese or Latin), but no transfer credit should be offered for university-level courses outside of such related areas (such as Applied Science and Engineering, Home Economics, Law, etc.).
