It's Here: Aqueduct Website Author

Last updated: Thursday afternoon.

September 21-26, TWU's Strategic Systems Team (SST) rolled out a brand-new system that will give authorized staff, faculty, and students direct access to edit the main TWU website, www.twu.ca.

Accomplishments

  • We imported about 6000 pages, 800 shortcuts, and 1200 folders (not to mention the thousands of assets we're still counting...)
  • We were able to convert all the old pages into XML/XHTML format, the best standard available on the web at this time, opening up many new possibilities for us to re-use our content
  • We now have a new content server (which is why the pages end with .html instead of .aspx) that also gives RSS feeds for every folder
  • Aqueduct Website Author now publishes "live" to www.twu.ca. Changes are quick and easy to make. And the "Edit this Page" link still works if you sign in.

How you can help now

  • If you see a problem with your site, please file a helpdesk request with the address of the page with a problem. You can also try editing the page yourself, if you want to.
  • If you're waiting for Ryan or Orion to fix it, please be patient as we have a lot of work ahead of us yet.

Get Access

To help get the new site set up quickly, we've delegated administration to people around the campus:

  • /academics is administered by Hannah Bernard
  • /academics/research is administered by Sue Funk
  • /life is administered by Sheldon Leoppky and other members of the "Dean of Students Office" group
  • /life/community (and the other departmental sites) are administered by the respective Student Life staff groups
  • /glc and /sites/bellingham are administered by the whole GLC staff group
  • /athletics is administered by Scott Stewart
  • /admission/awards is administered by Mary Stewart

If you need access to a folder not listed here, please file a helpdesk request with the name of the folder.
